Life Span of Britax Child Car Restraints sold in New Zealand

Britax New Zealand distributes Child Car Restraints under the brand names Britax& Britax Safe-n-Sound that are manufactured under three Child Restraint Standards the Australian/New Zealand Standard (AS-NZS 1754), the European Standard (ECE Regulation 44) and the American Standard (FMVSS213). 

As of the 21st of July 2014, Britaxhas advised all of its retailers that the life of a Britax Child Car restraint commences from the date of purchase by the consumer not by the manufacturing date printed on the seated.

Britax Child Car Restraints are manufactured under the Australian/New Zealand or European Standard will have a maximum life of 10 years from the date of purchase, all American manufactured Standard Child Car Restraints will have a life span that is nominated within each individual models instruction booklet and will commence from the date of purchase.  

Babies.co.nz highly recommend that consumers register their warranty with Britax New Zealand via the customer service tab on their website and select the warranty registration web page to register their product.  

Please retain your receipt for reference in the event that they have a problem with any of our Car Restraints, we recommend that the purchase receipt is attached to the inside of the Child Restraint instruction book for future reference for any warranty claim or for determination of the end of the life of the child restraint.

Please note that in instances where a receipt is not available and the warranty has not been registered, then the life span will commence from the date of manufacture. The date of manufacture is located on all of our Child Car Restraints.
