Getting your car seat installed correctly is one of the single most important safety steps you'll take as a new parent. At Babies NZ, we take car seat safety seriously. Our Auckland showroom team includes certified Child Restraint Technicians who carry out professional car seat fittings every day. Whether you've just bought a new infant capsule, upgraded to a convertible seat, or want to make sure your existing seat is still correctly fitted as your child grows, we're here to help.
We offer professional car seat installation for all major brands — including Maxi-Cosi, Britax, Diono, Baby Jogger, and UPPAbaby — for vehicles of all types. Installation is complimentary with every car seat purchased from us, or available for just $35 per seat if you've bought your seat elsewhere.

Even a premium car seat won't perform as designed if it's not fitted correctly. Common issues include incorrect ISOFIX or seatbelt routing, a harness set too loose or at the wrong height, and the seat not being secured firmly enough to the vehicle. A certified fitting gives you the confidence that everything is set up correctly — and that you know how to maintain it that way.
All car seat installations at our Auckland showroom are carried out by certified Child Restraint Technicians. This means you're getting expert, up-to-date advice on installation, harness fitting, and New Zealand legal requirements — not just a quick once-over.
Your certified technician will work through everything with you, including:
- Confirming the seat is appropriate for your child's age, weight, and height
- Installing the seat securely in your vehicle
- Setting the harness to the correct height and tension for your child
- Walking you through how to correctly buckle, adjust, and re-install the seat yourself
- Answering any questions you have — no question is too basic when it comes to your child's safety
- Advising on when it's time to move to the next seat type
Most appointments take around 30–45 minutes. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can get started on time.
Installation is free when you purchase your car seat from Babies NZ — one complimentary fitting is included with every car seat purchase. Simply book your appointment and bring your proof of purchase.

In many cases, yes. We stock a range of slimline seats that are well suited to 3-across configurations. These appointments take longer and need a bit of extra planning, so please contact us before booking. Bring your vehicle manual and the measurements of all children who'll be travelling, and we'll take it from there.
